Cup(CFC) has been canceled! Despite the
promise of a bigger-than-ever 2023 event
with as many as sixteen teams having already registered
and after its successful 2022 inaugural season the
event;s owners have since decided to pull the plug on
the three-week round robin T20 tournament.
A whopping $85,000 in total prize monies was set to
be at stake for this year’s tournament. The eventual
winners would have carted away $50,00o as their first-
place prize. The second placed runners-up would have
been $20,000 richer, while the third and fourth place
teams were each slated to receive $7500 for having
progressed as far as the tournament’s semi finals.
2023 CFC new team, the Patiala Manchester Monarch
will, therefore now have to wait until next year to
try its fortunes in the tournament. So too will the
Bangalore Peshawar Titans, Karachi Chandigarh Kings,
last year’s runners-ups Jafna Gall Centurions, as well as
the defending champions Delhi Kathmandu Brampton
Royals.
