Canada will open its participation in Cricket West Indies 2019 Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup. Canada will be participating in the Competition’s St Kitts based Zone A matches.
Dubbed as the Caribbean Regional cricket’s biggest rivalries the 2019 Colonial Medical Super50 Competition will start on Wednesday, November 6! Two groups of five teams each will run concurrently in St. Kitts and Trinidad, contesting a total of 40 action-packed, group stage matches.
Coming on the heels of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League, fans can look forward to another four weeks of exciting cricket action, when the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup – the region’s pre-eminent, 50 overs-a-side competition – returns with a bang.
Zone “A” matches begin on the opening day of the competition and will take place every day either at Warner Park or Conaree Sports Complex in St. Kitts, and Zone “B” matches start the following day, Thursday, November 7, with matches taking place at Queen’s Park Oval and the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
Every team will play their zonal opponents twice before the top two in each group progress to the semi-finals and a chance to play in the Final under the lights at Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday, December 1.
Reigning champions, Combined Campuses & College Marooners launch the tournament on opening day in Group “A”, when they face hosts Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Warner Park; Jamaica Scorpions, Barbados Pride and Canada will be the other teams in Group “A”.
Canada’s remaining matches in the competition will take place on November 11 vs Barbados; November 14 vs Combined Colleges & Campuses; Nov 16 vs Jamaica; Nov 18 vs Jamaica; Nov 21 vs Leewards Islands; Nov 23 vs Barbados and Nov 25 vs Combined Colleges & Campuses.
