Halifax, Nova Scotia will be the host venue City for Cricket Canada’s forthcoming 2022 Annual
General Meeting. The AGM will be held during the May 7-8, 2022 weekend at the Halifax
Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, 1919 Upper Water St, Halifax, NS.
During the meeting elections will be held for the positions of President, Secretary as well as two
Directors-at-Large. Approval of Cricket Canada’s Strategic Plan and 2022 Calendar of Events among
the Agenda items for discussion and resolution at the AGM.
Incumbent President British Columbia based Rajpal Bajwa will be challenged for the position by Ranjit
Chaudhri a former Cricket Canada Director and current Cricket Ontario Vice–President. Chaudhri,
who also currently holds the position as the Hamilton & District Cricket League’s longstanding President,
publicly announced his intentions to bid for the Presidency on April 19, 2022, via his Facebook Social
Media page.
Cricket Canada’s Genera Secretary Farhan Khan as well as current Directors-at-Large Amjad Bajwa
will also be seeking re-election to their respective positions. As a consequence of Ranjit Chaudhri’s
Presidential bid, the other available Director-at-Large position is likely to be filled by someone new for
the forthcoming 2022-2024 two-year term. The Elections for the various positions are scheduled to be
held from 3:30 – 4;30 pm on Saturday, May 7 the first day of the scheduled two-day AGM.
