After a successful return to the field in 2022, the Ontario Softball Cricket League is aiming to continue the positive trend in 2023. The upcoming Annual General Meeting on March 5, 2023 at the Agincourt Recreation Centre from 1:30pm to 4:30pm will be attended by returning and new teams looking to participate in the League.
There were 14 teams that participated in the 2022 season that featured a round-robin format and finals from which Mercenary emerged as champions over CarrTec Sports Club. Mercenary had an outstanding season in which they were also crowned champions of the regular season, 10 overs and 15 overs knockout tournaments.
The 2023 season will see a return of two divisions which will group teams using their standings from the 2022 points table. This was the norm in previous years prior to the pandemic which saw many teams choosing to delay their return back to play.
There will be three (3) positions up for election at the coming Annual General Meeting. Those are Vice-President, currently held by KumarJaipersaud, Assistant Treasurer/Assistant Secretary currently held by Terry Mathura and Assistant Registrar/Statistician/Webmaster, currently
held by Rabindra Diaram.
