Cricket Ontario held its 2022 Annual
General meeting (AGM) on Saturday
April 9. The AGM was graced by full
attendance of Cricket Ontario’s Member
Clubs. There was also great participation
and wonderfully productive discussions.
Congratulations are in order for Brampton
& Etobicoke District Cricket League’s
(BEDCL) President Praim Persaud on his
election as Cricket Ontario’s new President
for the 2022 – 2022 two-year term.
Persaud replaces Shah Zafar who declined
to stand for re-election due to his family
commitments. Mr Zafar’s services towards Cricket in Ontario
and Canada have been outstanding. He had
worked very hard to help rebuild Cricket
Ontario into the vibrant and respectable
Provincial Sports Governing Body it has
become. His services which were a great
asset to Ontario’s cricket fraternity will now
surely be missed.
Congratulations are also in order for
Hamilton & District Cricket League
President (HDCL) Ranjit Chaudhri for his
election as Cricket Ontario’s Vice President.
In other Cricket Ontario AGM election
results Scarborough Cricket Association
(SCA) President Shiv Persaud was returned,
unchallenged as Secretary while Ottawa
Valley Cricket Council’s (OVCC) Nabiullah
Nawabi was elected as a Director at Large.
