Canada Dominant Over Peru At 2022 Women’s South American Championships!

Canada registered another emphatic victory, its third in as many matches to maintain its
unbeaten record at the 2022 South American Women’s T20
Championships. The Canadians easily rolled over Peru to
win by 10 wickets in a low-scoring affair.

Batting first Peru were bundled out for just 34 in 19.2 overs with
six of their batters failing to trouble the scorers. Mika Sofia E.
Linares (10) was the only batter to reach double figures. The
Peruvian total benefitted from as many as 19 extras including 15
wides and 3 no balls gifted by the Canadian bowlers.
Achini Perera 3/4-2.2 was Canada’s highest wicket-taker.
There were also two-wicket hauls from Mannat Hundal
2/1-3, Rhea Misra 2/3-3 and Krima Kapadia 2/4-
2.

Chasing 35 for victory Canada’s stand-in
openers Sana Zafar and Rey Blais made light
work of the target surpassing it to reach 37 after
just 3.3 overs. Blais’ 18 was made off 11 balls
with a six and a four. Zafar’s 15 required 13
balls and included 2 fours.
