Season Highlights:
Due to pandemic COVID-19 restrictions, most of the
Cricketing events for 2020 were canceled.
Victoria District Cricket Association successfully

conducted the Weekday League season.
The 6th Edition of BC BIG BASH had to be
canceled due to the pandemic after
initial plan.
Several Indoor Juniors Camps were
successfully conducted. Junior Programs
has seen a substantial rise in BC with the
help from both the Leagues.
Umpiring and Coaching programs are in
place through Mainland (VCU&SA) and
Island (VISCUS) Leagues with more officials
joining.
The 12 week U18 Junior Camps with High
Performance Juniors are up and running
for 2021 season.
A Women’s Selections / Trials camp was
conducted by our BC Women’s Coach
Financials:
Provincial Community Funding initiatives
targeting Junior Programs spending for the
Year 2020-21 were implemented.
Various funding applications were
submitted via viaSports, SportBC and
Government funding and are in process.
We need to develop more Junior and Women
Programs to create avenues for increased
funding from various Provincial and Federal
programs.
Plans are in place for TV broadcasting rights to
generate funding from Cricket match telecasts
Sponsorship drive plans through BC BIG BASH
and various National level tournaments are in
place.
Juniors & Women’s Programmes:
Various Junior Programs both through Indoor
academy were held with COVID-19 Safety
protocols in place.
Most of the Outdoor Junior activities were
curtailed due to Pandemic
BC Women Teams did indoor practice and
recruited more new talents. BC now has almost
4 full Women’s team rosters.
Conclusion:
The BC Super League will be introduced for
2021 as the original plan to inaugurate in 2020
was postponed due to COVID 19.
Future Plans are in place and after the
COVID-19 days back to normal, Cricket BC
and the Management team will make great
progress towards the goals set for 2021-22
