Cricket Ontario Supports Brampton’s Mayor Patrick Brown’s Multi-Purpose Stadium Proposal!

Cricket Ontario is very pleased to write in strong support of the multi-purpose sports stadium in
Brampton that will cater to cricket, field hockey, and soccer. Particularly for cricket, this Stadium is
a vital component in the workings of the growth in economy and growth of this wonderful city of
Brampton which is moving towards becoming a center of Cricket in Canada.

We are encouraged by the dedication and commitment of Mayor Patrick Brown in seeking the funds
to build the stadium and the local cricket leagues support especially the Brampton-Etobicoke District Cricket
League for Mr. Brown’s led Cricket Stadium project so that for the foreseeable future, the sport of Cricket is
safeguarded and the need of the cricket community is fulfilled.

Shah Zafar, President of Cricket Ontario states that “it would be such a tragedy if this cricket stadium initiative
is to be lost as International Cricket events are looming to come to Canada. We are hopeful that the City
Council will agree to approve the budget and the project.”

Cricket Ontario obviously is open to doing anything that we can to support the project. We wish Mr. Brown
and the people supporting him every success and we hope they can receive the necessary funding that enable
them to build the stadium for the future generation to come and current needs of the local community.
