Based on guidance from Provincial regulations and
Region Public Health Officials, Cricket Ontario will
continue to follow all recommended policies and
protocols in place to prioritize the health and safety of our
members leagues, players, parents, volunteers, coaches,
officials and staff and our residents.
We see that all levels of government are carefully monitoring
the COVID-19 situation and making changes to the safety
restrictions on a weekly basis to ensure public safety.We
also need to be patient and as such we must ask our cricket
community to have patience and understanding as we work
to ensure that appropriate protocols and procedures are in
place. We must also ensure that the environment is safe for
the resumption of cricket activities and a return to play.
The City facilities are still closed, but we hope that closure
will be lifted soon even on the limited capacity so as to
allow us to start our program on a smaller scale. IF we hear
the good news, Cricket Ontario will be making an official
announcement about the commencement of our activities.
It is expected that member leagues will announce their
own plans for the start of activities as is permitted in their
respective areas.

Cricket Ontario Executives are meeting on a monthly basis with plans at the ready for the start of the Season’s activities, when
we receive the green light from the Government that it has been deemed ‘safe’ to do so. At that time all parents, players, and
coaches will be contacted. A virtual Town Hall Meeting will be organized to share the details and timelines of the activities.
On the organization front, Cricket Ontario virtually held its 2020 Annual General Meeting via ZOOM. The following
individuals were elected to the Executive Board.

Congratulations to all the elected members. We are all looking forward to serving the cricket community as best as we can in
2021 and beyond.
As we shared in the last month’s report that Cricket Ontario in partnership with Cricket Canada has joined Coaches Ontario
and Coaches Canada National Coaching Certification Program. I am pleased to also share that under the supervision of Shiv
Persaud and Praim Persaud Phase 1 of the program has been completed. Twenty-four (24) nominated and selected individuals
from the Members’ Leagues attended the 3 days education program on Making Ethical Decisions, Planning a Practice and
a course on Teaching & Learning.
Phase 2 is planned for March 27 & 28 when participants will lean how to facilitate a class (teach a course on Cricket Skills) and
how to evaluate a coach. Phase 3 is the ICC Level 1 course that all participants will take to complete the program. This process
has allowed Cricket Ontario to build the capacity of the instructors to deliver Level 1 courses and coaches evaluations.
We continue to monitor Region Public Health updates and to make our decisions based on the latest guidelines. We thank
everyone in the cricket community for your understanding as we address this challenge together. We will continue to share
