Gurnek Singh Johal Wants To Help Canada Win As Many Of Its World Cup Matches

Richmond British Columbia, born ad raised, eighteen year old Gurnek Singh Johal has set helping Canada to win as many of its matches as possible as the primary objective for his participation
at the 2022 U19 World Cup. Singh’s playing
role in the team will be that of allrounder
of the left-handed batting and right arm fast
bowling variety.

As one of British Columbia’s most outstanding junior cricket
allrounders, Singh has been representing the Province in
competitive matches since 2015. His best
performance to date has been the 100 he
scored in a semi-final match at the Province’s
highest level of domestic cricket.

Singh lists England’s outstanding all-rounder
Ben Stokes as his all-time favorite cricketer.
He also likens his own game to that of
Stokes, citing the similarity of their roles as
their respective team’s all-rounder as his
reasons for doing so.

Of international cricket’s three current
formats Singh’s preference is for T20s. He
very much likes the fast paced nature of T20
cricket as well as the fact that its matches
can change dramatically at any time because
of the just twenty overs per side shortness
of its matches.
