Hamilton & District COVID 19 Message Update

April 16, 2020
HDCL executives have been keeping in constant touch with all our members and keeping everyone informed of
the current unprecedented situation brought upon us due to COVID-19 pandemic. We are happy to report that
none of our members have informed us of any COVID infection in our league and wish that all our members
continue to follow Health department advisories and keep themselves, their families, loved ones, friends and most
importantly our communities safe.
League executives had deferred the Spring Annual General Meeting (SAGM) that was originally
scheduled for April 5th to a future date to be decided as the situation improves.
2020 season schedule was ready for distribution to members at SAGM – however with the information
received from various cities – it looks very unlikely that HDCL season can start as per the original
schedule.
HDCL scheduling team will be ready with a revised schedule as soon as a clear indication from cities on
the possibility of opening outdoor parks is received.
League has deferred 2020 membership fee collection to ease the burden on our members and players.
We remain very optimistic that we will have 2020 cricket season even though it will be in a curtailed
form.
Our focus will continue
to communicate with our
members and keeping them
informed as the situation evolves
– as well to urge everyone
including cricketers from all
leagues to obey provincial and
local rules of not engaging into
any cricket activities until such
direction is received from cities.
We wish for safety and health
of all cricketers and their loved
ones.
Warmest wishes and regards!
Ranjit Chaudhri
President – on behalf of HDCL
Executive Team
